Chromebook Checkout Information
Each student pays a $25 yearly technology fee, and both the students and parents sign agreements about their responsibilities. A Chromebook and charger are checked out to each student. The student is responsible for the care of both items. Chromebooks should be charged each night at home, and then brought to school charged.
Chromebook Troubleshooting and Repair
Always try this first:
1. Shut down your Chromebook, then restart it.
2. If that does not work, try removing your account and the re-adding it.
If something is still wrong with your Chromebook, please bring it to Mrs. Fitzgerald
in the library. While we are out of school due to Covid-19, you may email at dfitzgerald@tps501.org
Mrs. Fitzgerald will troubleshoot the problems with you and try to find a simple solution.
If it needs more work, the technician will look at the Chromebook and determine the repair and if it costs.
Parents will be contacted about the repair cost, and a bill will be sent out via mail. Repairs with a cost to the
student must be paid for the Chromebook to go home. In the meantime, the Chromebook will be used
at school but stay in the library overnight. If no cost is assessed, the Chromebook
will be returned once repaired.
If the charger is lost or broken, check with Mrs. Fitzgerald. You will need to pay $20 for a replacement in the
library. Mrs. Fitzgerald will write a receipt and the student will get a new charger. There is no way to identify
a charger if it is lost, so please keep it safely at home to avoid paying for another charger.
Chromebook Care
Your Chromebook is not a toy, it is a tool. Take good care of it. It is your
responsibility to keep it in good working condition!
If you are concerned, please check the Acceptable Use Policy (2935).
Lost Chromebooks
Holy Cow! How did you lose a whole Chromebook??
Contact Mrs. Fitzgerald in the library right away. If it has not been found in 24 hours, we can have it
"bricked" so that it can't be used, and hopefully it will returned to the library. If it doesn't show
up, the student is responsible for the full replacement cost of the Chromebook.
